Take command on one of the largest energy projects in the Pacific

Easy Skill is recruiting experienced Tug / Workboat Masters for the marine logistics operations of a major LNG development in Papua New Guinea. Our client, an international project logistics contractor, is mobilising a fleet of tugs, workboats and RORO ramp barges to deliver project cargo up-river to the construction site. We are actively building the crew that will run these operations, and we want to hear from masters who know shallow water, river currents and barge work first-hand.

Your role

As Master, you hold command of a twin-screw, bow-thruster tug or workboat operating on river and shallow-draft towage routes. You tow and berth RORO ramp barges at river landings, provide standby and safety cover for cargo operations, and run your vessel in a full oil and gas operating environment: permit-to-work, journey management and vessel assurance to OVID standards. You are the person the client trusts to get cargo through safely, every rotation.

What you bring

• A valid STCW II/2 or II/3 Master Certificate of Competency (near-coastal or unlimited) with current endorsements, eligible for PNG NMSA flag recognition.

• At least 8 years in command, with documented river or shallow-draft towage experience: river tugs, Torres Strait or South-East Asian river trades, or equivalent. Blue-water-only command does not meet this requirement.

• Solid barge handling: twin-screw and bow-thruster tugs, RORO ramp barge towage, river berthing, standby and safety duties.

• Experience working under oil and gas operational discipline (permit-to-work, journey management, OVID-inspected fleets) with an operator or a major contractor.

• Fluent professional English and medical fitness for remote rotational deployment. BOSIET / HUET and Tok Pisin are welcome assets.

Previous experience with a major LNG operator, on oil and gas or LNG marine and project-cargo operations, or on Papua New Guinea and Pacific river work will place you at the top of our shortlist.
