Civil / Structural QA Personnel (PNG Nationals)
1. Client Description
The organization is a leading international infrastructure and industrial contractor executing high-profile energy, resource, and heavy civil construction developments globally. They specialize in driving strict project quality frameworks, technical compliance, and defect reduction on complex, multi-million-dollar greenfield sites.
2. Scope
Project Type: A major greenfield industrial construction development.
Location: Site-based in Papua New Guinea.
Hierarchy: Reports directly to the site QA/QC Manager.
Primary Mandate: Act as the on-site technical authority for inspecting, verifying, documenting, and ensuring quality assurance for all civil and structural works throughout the construction lifecycle.
Nationality Requirement: This position is strictly open to Papua New Guinea (PNG) nationals.
3. Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Verification: Perform detailed field inspections of earthworks, deep foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steel fabrication/erection, and civil infrastructure to guarantee adherence to approved drawings and specifications.
Testing & ITP Compliance: Witness, execute, and officially record inspections, material test results (e.g., concrete and compaction testing), and designated project hold points.
Defect Management: Identify technical discrepancies, raise and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and coordinate directly with engineering and subcontractor teams to implement corrective actions.
Documentation & Handover: Maintain meticulous quality records, track punch lists, and compile turnover dossiers to directly support mechanical completion and final project handover activities.
Quality Auditing: Participate in scheduled site quality audits and reviews alongside third-party inspection agencies and construction management teams.
4. Qualifications
Education: Hold a Trade qualification, Technical Diploma, or a full University Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a closely related discipline.
Certifications: Formal Quality Assurance (QA) or Quality Control (QC) certifications are highly desirable.
Essential Experience:
5 to 10 years of dedicated QA/QC experience on heavy industrial, mining, LNG, energy, or large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
Extensive, hands-on experience inspecting bulk earthworks, formwork, reinforcement, structural steel erection, and grouting activities.
Technical Skills:
Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, structural specifications, and detailed Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Proficient in using electronic quality management systems and Microsoft Office.
Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented and proactive with excellent reporting skills and a proven ability to work effectively within site-based, multidisciplinary teams.
