Flight Crew Production Manager H/F
Lead the Skies: French-Speaking Flight Crew Production Manager | South Pacific Hub
Flight Crew Production Manager (South Pacific)
Location: South Pacific Region (Regional Hub)
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Relocation Assistance: Yes
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Flight Crew Production Manager to lead and optimize our flight crew resource planning, scheduling, and operational delivery for our client expanding South Pacific network.
In this role, "production" means turning our airline's commercial schedule into optimized, legally compliant, and cost-effective crew pairings and rosters. You will act as the strategic bridge between Network Planning, Flight Operations, and Crew Training, ensuring we have the right crew, in the right place, at the right time—all while maintaining the highest safety standards and a deep respect for our regional workforce's unique cultural landscape.
Key Responsibilities
1. Resource Strategy & Roster Production
Oversee the end-to-end production of monthly flight crew (pilots and cabin crew) rosters, ensuring maximum productivity, fatigue mitigation, and cost efficiency.
Translate long-term commercial schedule forecasts into actionable crew manpower plans (3 to 12 months out).
Optimize crew pairings and slip patterns across a unique, geographically dispersed South Pacific network.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Safety
Ensure 100% compliance with local Civil Aviation Authorities (CAA) regulations, Flight Time Limitations (FTL), and fatigue risk management systems (FRMS).
Collaborate closely with the Crew Training department to seamlessly integrate simulator sessions, line checks, and recurrent training into the production pipeline.
Align production strategies with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and industrial relations frameworks.
3. Operational Integrity & Cost Control
Manage the crew utilization budget, tracking key metrics like hotel spend, positioning travel, overtime, and standby coverage.
Utilize advanced crew management and optimization software to run "what-if" scenarios for schedule changes, disruptive seasonal weather (e.g., cyclone season), or fleet changes.
4. Leadership & Regional Engagement
Lead, mentor, and upskill a localized team of crew planners and schedulers.
Foster a supportive, collaborative workforce environment that respects and aligns with the diverse cultures and island traditions of our South Pacific crew network.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Airline Industry Expertise: Minimum of 5–7 years of solid experience in airline crew planning, resource management, or flight operations production.
Systems Proficiency: Deep hands-on experience with industry-standard Crew Management Systems (CMS) such as Sabre, Jeppesen, AIMS, NetLine, or Carmen.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of international aviation regulations (EASA, FAA, CASA, or local South Pacific CAAs) regarding flight crew duty times.
Analytical Skills: Excellent data-driven decision-making skills with a proven track record of optimizing crew costs without sacrificing operational resilience.
Desirable Attributes (South Pacific Alignment)
Regional Adaptability: Prior experience working in the South Pacific, Oceania, or a similar remote/island aviation environment is highly advantageous.
Cultural Competence: A high level of emotional intelligence and cultural awareness, with an adaptable communication style suited for a diverse, multicultural team.
Resilience: Ability to handle the unique logistical challenges of island aviation, including limited infrastructure, remote positioning logistics, and rapid weather-related schedule changes.
What We Offer
Competitive tax-advantaged regional salary package.
Comprehensive relocation assistance, including housing allowance and schooling support (if applicable).
Generous airline travel privileges for you and your immediate family.
A rare opportunity to live and work in one of the most beautiful, culturally rich, and welcoming regions in the world.
