HSSEQ Manager

Position Overview

Our leading Logistics Division is seeking an experienced and proactive HSSEQ Manager to provide strategic leadership, direction, and hands-on support across our operations. In this role, you will partner closely with operational teams to ensure total Risk Management compliance within corporate standards.

The ideal candidate is a decisive problem-solver who can address difficult challenges head-on while continually improving our Safety Management Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Partnership: Partner closely with operations to provide leadership, direction, and support, ensuring total Risk Management compliance with group standards.

  • Incident & Crisis Management: Act swiftly and decisively to address difficult challenges and safety hazards immediately and head-on.

  • System Continuous Improvement: Comprehend, apply, and continually improve the company’s comprehensive Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Job Requirements

Education & Qualifications

  • A Degree in Environmental Science or a relevant higher qualification.

  • OR a minimum of a Grade 12 education combined with post-specialist studies in an HSSE-related field (equivalent to a Certificate IV).

Experience

  • HSSEQ Expertise: Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in the Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Quality (HSSEQ) field.

  • Leadership: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory and/or managerial role.

  • Systems: Direct, proven experience working with Safety Management Systems.

Knowledge, Skills, & Attributes

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of local country Health and Safety Acts (specifically PNG regulations).

  • Operational Awareness: General knowledge of logistics operations and a strong fundamental understanding of the inherent risks involved.

  • Communication: Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Execution: Strong deadline orientation, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to risk mitigation.

  • Valid Driver’s License.
