This is an urgent, high-mobility role designed to support a surge in service requirements across domestic and international locations. Initially offered on a weekly rate with a clear pathway to permanent employment, this position is ideal for a self-motivated technician who enjoys travel and hands-on technical problem-solving.

Client Description

The employer is a specialized technical service provider operating within the industrial and environmental sectors. They manage a high volume of monitoring projects across Australia and overseas, focusing on the reliability and accuracy of critical environmental systems for industrial clients.

Scope of Role

The Itinerant Field Technician is responsible for the "on-the-ground" execution of technical services. The scope includes:

• Geographic Coverage: Extensive travel across Australia and international sites.

• System Lifecycle: Hands-on maintenance and lifecycle support for environmental monitoring equipment.

• Operational Transition: Starting as a contract-based resource with the intent to move into a full-time, permanent position based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Field Maintenance: Execute routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and complex repairs on environmental monitoring systems at various industrial sites.

• Calibration: Perform precise calibration of instruments to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.

• Travel & Logistics: Manage a rigorous travel schedule, including interstate and overseas assignments.

• Reporting & Documentation: Utilize company-provided tools (computer/mobile) to document technical findings and completed works.

• Safety & Discipline: Adhere to strict field protocols and safety standards while working autonomously in varied environmental conditions.

Qualifications

• Technical Aptitude: Strong mechanical or electronic troubleshooting skills and experience with specialized industrial equipment.

• Mobility: Must be willing and able to travel frequently; ideally based near a major airport (Gold Coast preferred).

• Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.

• Logistics Requirements: Access to a personal vehicle for local assignments (reimbursed) and a readiness for an immediate start.

• Field Experience: Previous experience working on-site at industrial facilities or environmental monitoring stations is highly regarded.
