Junior Quality & Site Engineer Sydney
Join us as Junior Quality & Site Engineer: bridge procurement and field delivery on a major water plant project, coordinating FATs, international teams, and on-site installation.
Our client is currently seeking a dynamic Junior Quality & Site Engineer to join a Pre Treatment Water Plant Project team. This unique role offers a dual-phase experience, transitioning from high-level equipment quality management to hands-on site coordination during the critical erection phase of a major infrastructure project.
The Opportunity
As a Junior Engineer, you will bridge the gap between procurement and physical construction. You will start by ensuring the technical integrity of critical equipment through international coordination, before moving to the field to oversee mechanical installation and subcontractor performance.
Key Responsibilities

FAT Management: Manage the calendar for Factory Acceptance Tests and coordinate inspections with third-party inspectors in Australia.
International Liaison: Lead weekly coordination meetings with teams across Australia, China, and Europe (Bilbao).
Documentation: Track and pre-filter Manufacturer Data Records (MDR), ITPs, and FAT procedures to ensure compliance before site delivery.
Expediting: Support project expeditors in chasing quality documentation and resolving equipment issues post-delivery.
Phase 2: Site Engineering & Execution
Site Coordination: Oversee subcontractors during mechanical and piping installation for key areas (Dewatering, Chemical Building, Lime System).
QA/QC Terrain: Proactively complete ITPs/ITRs, perform pre-test checks (supports, valves, punch points), and maintain records in RIB CX.
Logistics: Coordinate unloading, laydown zones, and plant requirements (Franna, Manitou) with the Mechanical Supervisor.
Technical Reporting: Flag constructability issues, clashes, or material shortages early to the Project Engineer.
Your Profile
Education: Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
Experience: 2–5 years of professional experience in a technical or industrial environment.
Location: Must be currently based in Australia and available for an April 2026 start.
Soft Skills: Proactive, dynamic, and capable of "chasing" global suppliers while maintaining professional relationships.

Communication: Excellent English skills (written/verbal) for international reporting.
